Thought a few of you would like to see some concept sketches and studies from Marvel vs Capcom 2. I have so many roughs and wip's for this project I could easily fill a book or 2. I'll upload them in batches by character starting here with Ryu.

Ryu and Marvel vs Capcom 2 are copyright Capcom

awesome sauce Ryu dude! Really amazing looking. There are often right ways and wrong ways to draw Ryu, and I think you're doing it right. Strong profile and jaw line, scruffy hair in front and business in back. Like a reverse mullet, haha.
If I could suggest your next post dude??? I'd love to see some Son Son, Strider, Spidy and Magneto dude!
WoW, Joe! these are AMAZING.
Looks awesome! But wheres the Ken love? despite everyone is hating the Ken players on Street Fighter IV. Cant wait to see more of you MvC2 art work.
Red White: Ryu is such a filthy P.I.T.A. to draw!! agree with a right and wrong way of drawing him-thanks so much for thinking i'm doing it the right way! hard to tell anymore lol
Cheeks: thanks bro! fun but HARD...
LivingAudio: I love Ken! but I'm only showing roughs for characters that Capcom show the art for-since I don't yet know the final roster for the game-nice avatar btw!

I'm assuming that they're not adding any new characters, since it's essentially a port of the original game.
Sage Freehaven: ok lemme rephrase...uh I will release art as Capcom releases character art I've done? I haven't asked what I can show or not and don't wanna rub anyone the wrong way. Capcom is my #1 fav game company for art and character designs so it would be a nightmare to have them peeved at me ;)
thnx for the link-I use that site for reference often
Ah, that's cool. I look forward to seeing what else you've got up your sleeve.
Sage Freehaven: hopefully I can show more soon-I'll post some Wolverine WIP's later so stay tuned :P
Sorry to nitpick, but this will help you in future drawings. It's Japanese custom that in wrapped clothing like kimono and martial arts uniforms the left side should overlap the right.
You have the opposite, which they only do to dress corpses for burial.
Matthew Long: awesome thanks Matthew-very good to know-I'm surpised nobody at Capcom mentioned it lol
maybe Ryu is attending the funeral of each of his opponents? lol...sigh
