Balto sculpt!

Apparently I'm one of those lucky guys that has a really large group of really REALLY good friends. The kind of friends that have your back when you're in trouble and also kick your ass back in gear if you're causing trouble. We've been through many ups and downs throughout the years sharing many many laughs over equally as many beers. Of course we've been through some tough times as well, but with a good circle of friends any obstacle can be overcome.

As if that wasn't enough most of them are also amazing artists working on all kinds of projects-from videogames to animation, movies and toys, backgrounds to characters and even special effects, tattoos and graphic design. The more I think of it the more I realise how awesome my life really is.(I'm making a point of this not to brag-but because I often catch myself sulking about trivial things instead of 'smelling the roses')

To give you just one small example of many I thought I'd post this amazing sculpt a very good buddy of mine Mike Roberts. His work is always professional and his resume is impressive!(short bio below) He made this sweet sculpt years ago just 'cause he wanted to-how cool is that?! It's a sculpt of my personal character Balto which some of you may already be familiar. When I saw this thing in the 'flesh' I was blown away-not only because of how badass it looks but because it was a selfless gift from one of my many close friends.

I hope you guys dig it-and stay tuned for a possible follow up to this amazing sculpt-years have passed and Mikey is stronger than ever-man...I can't even take it-it's gonna kick all kinds of ass!

thanks Mike!

Dude... you have Trojan brand condom ads on here, lmfao. What'er you trying to sell?

Onto the meat of this, (a hurhur) dang that must be nice! I've got a few friends and it's always such a nice thing to see art or anything relating to your personal characters from them. It just means something personal and brightens up any day. ;) I'm so glad that you've got yourself a fine circle of friends that are also mega talented. There's a synergy to be had there. Each feeding off of the others successes to become better themselves and thus inspiring the others to do even more. ;) That kind of thing is awesome in and of itself. You do have it good dude! Keep having fun with it! And let your friend know that he did a fantastic job too! I could tell it was a bit older though because of the design. Last I recall, you had a wolfs head as a sort of armor on him.

Oh, and as a side note, I've finally gotten my Cintiq just yesterday. It is huge and will be getting a lot of use from me in the days, months and years to come. Hopefully I can start making some money back from it to justify the hefty price that came with it. It's an investment as far as I'm concerned.

Red White: condoms?! wtf? were they pencil domes? or wacom rubbers? I'm confused-thanks adsense-maybe I should check the settings to see if I can choose the ad selection lol
anyways I DEFINITELY realize how awesome it is to have such a circle of talent surrounding me-very lucky indeed
as for the cintiq-wow crazy! I remember vividly takin mine out of the box and being uber careful about every move I made setting it up haha
I still treat it like its brand new-wiping it down once or 2ce a day depending on use-I also made a glove thing out of an old sock that had a hole in the heel of it-which is now the thumb hole-lol-geek yes-but it helps my hand glide across the screen if it's humid out ;)
I would definitely invest in some back up nibs in a few months-mine have all worn down and I can now hear it scratch the surface slightly and worry about how it will hold up!

anyways-I love my Cintiq as much as the first day I bought it-so enjoy it to the fullest!

Javi García: ya he rocks-he's even better now as this sculpt is uh..5 years old? When I visited him in NY last week he was sculpting a tiny little Han Solo! it was amazing(like an inch tall) but so detailed
