A study I did of one of the many monsters in the world of Balto-a personal project of mine that serves as a creative outlet when I feel the need.
I drew this awhile ago-possibly late o8 actually. I never really finished it but I thought I'd share it anyways. I'm not really sure what he is...a dragon centaur beastie?
I quickly sketched in some townsfold/barbarians to give a hint of this guardians role. I like to do this once in awhile to give a bigger sense of who the characters are and how they'd react to a random situation-not much going on here of course but I think you get the picture...er is that a pun?

hahahah whoa, cool! I dig the bulldog like stance he has, hahaha. And the smaller sketch of him is cool because of the bone over muscle placement on his lower body. An anatomy-esq breakdown of the creature makes me happy because I'm just a sucker for details. Bravo!
Oh, and his jaw looks weird too. I'm not sure how he'd close his mouth in the big drawing of him. Looks like his lower jaw would cover his eyes, hahahaha. That would suck. You'd have to keep his mouth open all the time.

good point about the mouth-but I figure it's a cartoony style...or maybe he DOES keep his mouth open all the time :P
There are creatures kinda like this in the Warhammer mythos called Dragon-Ogres. They live in high mountains and spend most of their time beating the crap out of each other for territory or just for fun. Dragon-Ogres are immune to lightning, in fact being struck by it gives them a rush so the glow-y outline on the colour drawing kinda ties in too.

but that's kind of cool-I bet I'd like dragon-ogres then :P
Ahead of your time 20 years ago more like. The dragon-ogres concept is cool but the minis suck, your design is much more interesting.
